Philippines plans up to P27 billion to power 100,000 remote homes
The Department of Energy says connecting about 100,000 off-grid households will require between P20 billion and P27 billion.
During a Manila energy forum, DOE Electric Power Industry Management Bureau chief Luningning Baltazar revealed that electrifying roughly 100,000 remote homes will need P20-27 billion in funding. The agency also flagged an extra 369 unserved communities that could join the rollout. The money is expected to come from upcoming energy-sector investments aimed at expanding power access in isolated areas.
