Philippines seeks UN accelerator support for super-pollutant reduction and offers Manila climate summit

DENR Secretary Juan Miguel Cuna confirmed the Philippines' application to a UN accelerator program targeting super pollutants and proposed hosting a climate leadership board meeting in Manila next year.

During a side meeting at the United Nations Headquarters on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly, Juan Miguel Cuna met with Climate and Clean Air Coalition Secretariat Head Martina Otto. He reaffirmed the country's commitment to clean-air and climate-resilience initiatives. The Philippines has formally applied to the global accelerator aimed at curbing super pollutants and offered to host an international climate leadership board in Manila the following year.
