Philippines Targets 2027 Start for Subic-Clark-Manila-Batangas Railway Project
The Philippine government aims to begin construction of the 250-km Subic-Clark-Manila-Batangas railway as early as 2027, with feasibility studies already under way.
Finance Undersecretary Maria Angela Ignacio said the SCMB line, a central element of the Luzon Economic Corridor, could move to procurement and construction by the end of 2027 or in 2028. The 250-kilometre route links Subic, Clark, Manila and Batangas, and current feasibility work is progressing. The exact start date will depend on the results of these studies and related approvals.
