Philips Hue partners with Nanoleaf to add smart wall panels via $40 module

Starting today, Philips Hue introduces a $39.99 Wall Light Module that integrates Nanoleaf Hexagon, Triangle and Mini Triangle panels into the Hue platform. The module houses a full Hue connectivity stack, supporting Bluetooth, Zigbee and Thread simultaneously, allowing control through both the Hue app and Matter-compatible apps such as Apple Home. Once linked, the panels become standard Hue lights, usable in gradients, scenes, automations, switches and entertainment modes, and they will work with the Bridge Pro’s MotionAware and Spatial Aware capabilities.

At launch, using the module disables Nanoleaf’s dynamic scenes, screen-mirroring and music-reactive features, and removes the physical controller, though a dual-control option is slated for release within months. The module attaches to the panels in the same manner as Nanoleaf’s own controller. Integration is limited to Nanoleaf Shapes products, with Lines, Blocks and Elements excluded for now. Beginning October 1, 2026, starter kits and extensions will be purchasable through the Philips Hue website.
