Philosopher Richard David Precht questions official COVID-vaccine safety data after his father's alleged injury

Richard David Precht says his 88-year-old father suffered a heart problem and rapid dementia after a COVID-19 shot, and claims the hospital refused to report it, undermining trust in official statistics.

During a podcast interview, Richard David Precht explained how he convinced his 88-year-old father to get vaccinated against COVID-19, despite the father's long-standing health confidence. Following the second injection, the father suffered a sudden collapse, which Precht attributes to a heart defect and an instant onset of severe short-term dementia. Precht contacted the hospital to report the incident to the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut, but the hospital dismissed the case as a normal age-related issue and refused to file a report.

This experience caused Precht to lose faith in the official vaccine injury statistics. He emphasized that he does not accuse authorities of intentional data manipulation, only that the evidence base is insufficient. Precht also criticized the broader vaccination strategy, especially the use of vaccines not tested on children, and noted he faced media backlash for his stance.

Why it matters

The claim challenges confidence in official COVID-vaccine safety monitoring and may influence public perception of vaccine risks.
