PH’s 2027 Oscar entry ‘Filipiñana’ enters fourth week in local cinemas

“Filipiñana” has entered its fourth week in local cinemas, continuing its theatrical run after being selected as the Philippines’ official submission for Best International Feature to the 99th Academy Awards, or 2027 Oscars. Written, directed and edited by Rafael Manuel and starring Jorrybell Agoto, “Filipiñana” was earlier selected by the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) as the country’s Oscar entry. The film’s local theatrical run follows its closing-film stint at Cinemalaya and marks its return to the Philippines after spending the past year on the international film festival circuit.
