Poco F9 Ultra Debuts with Brilliant OLED Screen and Illuminated Bose Subwoofer
Poco’s new F9 Ultra pairs a 10,000-nit OLED display with a glowing Bose 2.1 speaker system, while the lower-priced F9 Pro offers a similar screen without the subwoofer.
Poco, a Xiaomi spin-off, has unveiled its latest flagship, the F9 Ultra, marking the second consecutive year of collaboration with Bose for premium audio. The device houses a Bose-branded 2.1 sound system that reuses last year’s subwoofer but adds a white LED ring for call alerts, notifications, and rhythmic lighting during games, a feature the reviewer notes surpasses the limited HiLight option on competing phones. Its 6.9-inch OLED display boasts a manufacturer-claimed peak brightness of 10,000 nits and a 185 Hz refresh rate that activates in supported titles, with more than 20 games available at launch.
Under the hood sits a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, up to 16 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage, and an 8,050 mAh silicon-carbon battery capable of 100 W fast charging. Photography hardware includes a 200-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel 5× periscope telephoto, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, all benefitting from Xiaomi’s image-processing algorithms. A slimmer F9 Pro variant shares the bright screen but lacks the subwoofer and LED ring, carries a smaller 6,330 mAh battery, and uses a slightly detuned version of the same processor. The Ultra starts at €1,099.90, discounted to €829.90 for early adopters, while the Pro begins at €899.90, with an initial offer of €739.90; both receive four years of OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
