Poland prepares evacuation plans and warns of worst-case scenario if Ukraine loses war

Marcin Kierwiński told Rzeczpospolita that Poland must plan for unlikely but dangerous scenarios, stressing that the most severe would be a Ukrainian defeat enabling continued Russian aggression across Europe. He affirmed that evacuation strategies are being drafted for every municipality, supplemented by regional and nationwide programs overseen by the Government Centre for Security as required by the civil-defence act.

The minister mentioned that the CIA conveyed oral intelligence to Polish security coordinator Tomasz Siemoniak, though its content remains classified. He warned of possible Russian air incursions near the border and said Poland is upgrading its public-alert system, including a forthcoming app tied to siren networks and future cell-broadcast technology. Kierwiński linked the precision of evacuation plans to the overall strength of Poland’s defence and crisis-response capabilities.
