Poland raises air-defence alert as Russian drones strike western Ukraine

Following reports of Russian unmanned aerial vehicles striking targets in the western part of Ukraine, the Operational Command of the Air-Defence System (RSZ) raised the readiness of selected Polish air-defence units. A military helicopter has been deployed to patrol Polish airspace and ensure safety, especially near the border areas affected by the attacks. Alerts were distributed to citizens in a wide list of counties across the Lublin and Podkarpackie regions, covering major districts such as Lublin, Chełm, Zamość, Rzeszów and Przemyśl. The warning, issued by the RCB, emphasizes that the measures are preventive and aim to protect Polish airspace adjacent to the conflict zone. Authorities will continue to monitor the situation and keep forces on standby for immediate response.
