Poland's Finance Ministry releases 2026 budget performance and 2027 outlook

The Ministry of Finance published the provisional 2026 budget results for January-September, showing higher revenues than the previous year and outlining projections for the 2027 budget.

On Thursday, Poland's Ministry of Finance released provisional figures for the state budget covering January through September 2026. Revenue reached 438.8 billion zł, about 67.8 % of the annual plan, and was roughly 23.3 billion zł higher than the same period last year, largely due to increased tax collections. Expenditures amounted to 611.0 billion zł, representing 66.5 % of the plan, leaving a deficit that stayed within the projected range.

The ministry highlighted that corporate income tax (CIT) revenue is expected to reach 94.6 billion zł in 2027, while VAT and personal income tax (PIT) are forecast at 363.7 billion zł and 33.4 billion zł respectively. The draft 2027 budget, under consideration by the Sejm, projects a real GDP growth of 3 % and average inflation of 2.8 %, with total revenues of 696.4 billion zł and expenditures of 977.6 billion zł, keeping the deficit below 281.2 billion zł. The bill has moved to committee review, with work expected to conclude by 15 January, after which the President has seven days to sign.
