Poland seeks extradition of former justice minister Ziobro after Peru treaty signed

Radoslaw Sikorski announced that a new extradition treaty with Peru has been signed and used the occasion to caution Zbigniew Ziobro against escaping to the country. While in New York, Sikorski joked with TVN24 that Ziobro, now a commentator for TV Republika, should not count on ICE pursuing him. The prosecutor's office has filed a request with U.S. authorities to extradite Ziobro on 19 charges tied to the Justice Fund investigation.

Ziobro, who previously obtained political asylum in Hungary, entered the United States on a journalist visa after traveling from Milan. He denies any wrongdoing and claims the case is politically motivated, while also criticizing Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Justice Minister Waldemar Żurek.
