Police and army begin clearing migrant camp on Ceuta’s Trampolín beach

In the early hours of Sunday, police units supported by army personnel launched an operation to clear the illegal settlement on Ceuta’s Trampolín beach, despite heavy rain. Authorities began evacuating the portion of the camp closest to the desalination facility and are moving migrants by bus to the Tarajal crossing for identification and processing. The eviction is proceeding in stages, with the first parcel already cleared as the operation continues.

A week earlier, police cleared a separate settlement at Benítez beach. Two Moroccan migrants were detained on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 17‑year‑old girl at the Trampolín site.
