Police block ultra group with Spanish flags from confronting protesters at Sol camp
Police formed a cordon to stop a group of ultras carrying Spanish and Francoist flags from reaching the activists camped at Puerta del Sol.
Following the conclusion of the Día de la Hispanidad parade, a contingent of ultras arrived from Calle Alcalá carrying Spanish and Francoist banners and chanting nationalist slogans. They attempted to confront the activists who had set up a camp at Puerta del Sol. The Policía Nacional responded by establishing a police cordon, deploying vans and officers to keep the two groups apart.
The ultras continued to shout slogans and perform fascist salutes, while the campers replied with anti-fascist chants and applause. The police remained positioned between the groups, and the situation stayed under control with only verbal exchanges and no reported violence.
