Police chase ends in fatal crash on Warwick Road near Stratford-upon-Avon
A police pursuit on Birmingham Road near Stratford-upon-Avon ended when the suspect's Audi collided with a Ford Puma, killing the driver and seriously injuring the woman behind the wheel.
Around 17:30 BST on Monday, Warwickshire Police tried to halt a black Audi traveling on Birmingham Road near Stratford-upon-Avon, but the driver evaded the stop and a pursuit ensued. After roughly fifteen minutes, the Audi veered onto the A439 Warwick Road and crashed into a white Ford Puma, killing the male driver on site, according to paramedics. The woman driving the Ford sustained serious injuries and remains in intensive care.
Police reported additional vehicles were damaged during the chase, and the A439 has been shut from the Marraway roundabout to its junction with Ingon Lane and Sandbanks Lane. The Independent Office for Police Conduct will lead an inquiry, and Warwickshire County Council advises motorists to use alternative routes while the road stays closed.
