Police confiscate 125 motorcycles in Kuala Terengganu after youth riding complaints

Authorities in Kuala Terengganu issued 447 summonses and seized 125 motorcycles during a two-day crackdown targeting illegal riding and noise complaints.

Kuala Terengganu police launched Op Samseng Jalanan 2026, a two-day enforcement sweep on Oct 16 and 17, responding to public complaints about noisy, reckless motorbike riders in Kampung Padang Midin and the city centre. District police chief assistant commissioner Azli Mohd Noor said officers inspected motorcycles suspected of involvement in the Gen-Y Event 2026 celebrations. Inspectors identified infractions including missing side mirrors, invalid or expired licences, non-standard number plates and modified exhaust systems.

Under Section 64 of the Road Transport Act 1987, 125 motorcycles were seized and 447 summonses were issued. The operation ran from midnight into the early morning hours, and police urged the community to obey traffic rules and avoid dangerous riding.
