Police detain man in his 50s over July fatal shooting in Dún Laoghaire
Gardaí have arrested a man in his 50s in connection with the July 5 shooting that killed 39-year-old Mark Cullen in Patrician Park, Dún Laoghaire.
The fatal incident occurred at 8.30 am on Sunday, July 5, when Mark Cullen was shot dead in Patrician Park on Kill Avenue. Gardaí later detained a suspect in his 50s under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007, allowing up to seven days of custody with possible extensions. An earlier arrest of a man in his 30s was released without charge, with the case file sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions. Investigations remain ongoing.
