Police Detain Suspected Hit-and-Run Driver on Flight from Malaga to Manchester
Spanish police arrested a man on a Manchester-bound flight at Malaga Airport after linking him to a hit-and-run that left a 12-year-old with a fractured skull.
A hit-and-run incident in the Costa del Sol resort of Torremolinos injured a 12-year-old boy, who fractured his skull while walking to school. Police traced the rental car used by the alleged driver and discovered he was scheduled to fly to Manchester. At Malaga Airport, officers boarded the aircraft, forced the passenger off, and arrested him.
The suspect is now held at the Torremolinos Local Police headquarters awaiting a court appearance. Local officials confirmed the arrest but did not disclose the man's nationality. The boy was transferred to Málaga's Maternal and Child Hospital, where he continues to receive treatment.
