Police dismantle violent prostitution ring in Nord and Pas-de-Calais, child victim identified

Authorities broke up a violent prostitution network operating in Nord and Pas-de-Calais, uncovering a 13-year-old victim among those exploited.

The Béthune prosecutor's office disclosed that a violent prostitution network spanning the Nord and Pas-de-Calais regions has been dismantled. The operation, which ran from February to September, involved numerous towns such as Lille, Lens and Douai. Victims, comprising sex workers, clients and a 13-year-old girl, described physical violence and intimidation by the accused.

Police apprehended several individuals linked to the ring and have initiated prosecutions against the majority. Four young suspects are being held in pre-trial detention, while a minor under 16 has been placed in a closed educational facility pending judgment. Three other defendants received sentences ranging from ten months of actual imprisonment to fourteen months of suspended jail time with probation.
