Police End Search for Missing Czech Tourists After Boat Capsizes off Smøla

On Wednesday, police announced the termination of the search for four Czech fishing tourists who vanished after their boat went down near Smøla in Nordmøre. Mona Kvernberg, the operational leader for the Møre og Romsdal police district, recorded that no further bodies were located and the search was called off for the day. The incident occurred last Friday in waters off Grip, a small island between Averøy and Smøla.

To date, only one of the four victims has been found, leading officials to presume the others are deceased. Authorities will reassess the possibility of continuing the operation tomorrow. The case highlights the dangers faced by recreational anglers in Norway’s coastal waters.
