Police evacuate dozens from Hořovice hospital after anonymous bomb threat

Around 7:30 a.m. an anonymous bomb threat was reported at Hořovice hospital, prompting police to evacuate dozens of individuals while patients dependent on beds or life-support systems stayed on site under police supervision. The response mobilised the maximum police presence, three canine teams trained to detect explosives, and a large emergency-service deployment that included ambulances, rapid-response crews, a special-operations unit and three rescue helicopters from Prague, Plzeň and České Budějovice.

By 10 a.m. no bomb was found, and the regional rescue centre activated a trauma plan to move patients to surrounding hospitals. Fire-service vehicles, a traffic-inspector team and additional rescue crews from neighboring regions also assisted. A similar evacuation occurred the previous week in Kadaň, involving about 240 people and also yielding no explosive. Hořovice hospital is part of the Akeso Holding group, which operates other facilities in Beroun and the Multiscan oncology centre in Pardubice.
