Police evacuate Västerås building after suspect dangerous item is handed in
A person voluntarily delivered a potentially hazardous object to police in Västerås, prompting the evacuation of parts of the building and street closure.
Police spokesperson Magnus Jansson Klarin said the item was handed over in good faith and no criminal suspicion exists against the individual. Authorities cleared sections of the premises and blocked the adjacent road. Coordination with the national bomb protection agency is ongoing to determine how to handle the object. The alert was raised around 4 p.m. on Monday.
