Police hunt for two trailers after 800 barrels of Guinness stolen from Runcorn depot
On the night of 31 August, thieves stole two HGV trailers loaded with a total of 800 barrels of Guinness from Diageo's warehouse on the Whitehouse Industrial Estate in Runcorn. The first vehicle left the site around 7:55 pm heading toward the Mersey Gateway, and the second departed about 9:30 pm toward Rainhill and Watkinson Way. Detectives described the first driver as a white male with a short dark beard wearing a beanie, and the second driver as wearing a cap.
The trailers are marked with GXO branding and carry ID numbers DL736 and DL542, and police are seeking any dash‑cam footage or sightings of the vehicles. One report values the loss at roughly £115,000, while another puts the figure at about £205,000.
