Police hunt suspect linked to robberies after hit-and-run kills 16-year-old in LA

Los Angeles police are searching for Raygine Glentasia Evans, wanted for a series of robberies, after she allegedly struck 16-year-old Hernan Martinez and his 13-year-old sister in a fatal hit-and-run.

Raygine Glentasia Evans, cited nine times for reckless driving and sought for ten robberies, is accused of running a stop sign at high speed and colliding with Hernan Martinez, 16, and his sister Vicky, 13, on September 22 in Hyde Park, Los Angeles. The impact threw Hernan onto the windshield of a blue Nissan Sentra, which then struck parked cars before coming to rest; he was pronounced dead at the scene, and Vicky was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Neighbor Jerome Alexander described hearing a loud crash and finding Vicky partially trapped under a parked vehicle before her mother’s pleas revived her. He also reported a man returning to the wreck to retrieve a baby from the back seat. Community members gathered for a rosary and painted a crosswalk at the intersection, while the family launched a GoFundMe that has raised over $18,000 toward a $22,000 goal. The LAPD continues to search for Evans and has announced a reward of up to $50,000 for tips, with anonymous leads accepted through Crime Stoppers.
