Police investigate senior officer linked to child sexual abuse network
A police officer charged three weeks ago was found to have participated in a child-pornography ring and to have assaulted teenage boys.
The officer, who holds a supervisory position and has dealt with child-pornography cases, was indicted for raping boys aged 13 to 15 and for bestiality. Police officials say his superiors were aware of the suspicions. He remained on duty after initially denying the allegations, but was placed on leave in March as more accusations emerged.
