Police launch murder probe after a body found in a burning van in Prestatyn
A van ablaze on Gas Works Lane in Prestatyn revealed a dead body, prompting a murder investigation by North Wales Police.
Around 11.30 pm on Sunday, October 4, emergency services were called to a van on fire on Gas Works Lane in Prestatyn. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and police found a human body inside the vehicle. The identity of the person has not yet been established, and a murder investigation has been opened.
Detective Superintendent Chris Bell said officers are moving quickly to identify the victim and will assign specialist support to the family once the identity is known. A police cordon remains in place while inquiries continue, and the public is asked to contact authorities if they saw or heard anything unusual between 10.45 pm and 11.45 pm.
