Police nab another suspect in Veeramani child abuse case, probe property sales

Tamil Nadu's crime branch announced the arrest of Ganesan, who worked for 23 years at Gem Granites and now serves Balaji Global Enterprises, for keeping a video on his phone that depicts granite baron R Veeramani in an inappropriate act with a minor and failing to alert authorities. He was produced before a magistrate and remanded to Puzhal Central Prison. Police are probing how the explicit footage reached Ganesan and why he did not report it, while also scrutinizing recent sales of Veeramani's properties on East Coast Road and in Ooty, rumored to be worth ₹120 crore and ₹10 crore.

A senior officer indicated Ganesan managed Veeramani's financial dealings and facilitated the East Coast Road sale to help evade arrest. Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam's Rajmohan Arumugam likened the emerging details to the "Gem Granites Files," alleging large sums were paid and witnesses silenced, and blamed the former DMK administration for protecting the accused. The DMK refuted any protection, stating investigations continue to gather solid evidence.
