Police nab top wanted suspect in RPG attack on Maguindanao mayor
Authorities in Cotabato City arrested Toraipe Lusod, also known as Aripi Adam, as the primary suspect in the RPG assault on Shariff Aguak mayor Akmad “Mitra” Ampatuan Sr.
The Shariff Aguak Municipal Police, led by Major Joel Lebrilla, identified Lusod as the No. 1 most-wanted individual in Maguindanao del Sur. He was taken into custody at about 2:45 p.m. during a law-enforcement operation in the area. The arrest follows the January 25, 2026 rocket-propelled grenade attack that targeted the mayor.
