Police officers assaulted with bricks, sticks and chilli powder in Delhi neighbourhood
Three Delhi police constables were attacked with bricks, sticks and chilli powder while on patrol in Mukundpur, leaving one with a head injury.
In the northwest Delhi locality of Mukundpur, three police constables were assaulted during a routine patrol after they had taken an unregistered motorcycle to the station. Head constables Dinesh and Rajesh, accompanied by colleague Tinu, were met by the motorcycle's owner and relatives, who allegedly threw chilli powder into their eyes and beat them with bricks and sticks. The attack left all three officers injured, with Dinesh receiving a head injury but remaining in stable condition after treatment.
Police captured a 17-year-old juvenile at the scene, while the primary accused, Sunil alias Pankaj, who has a record of prior offenses, fled. A case has been filed under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Delhi Police Act, and authorities are continuing the search for the remaining suspects.
