Police open case after alleged gang rape of Azeri business visitor in Lahore
Defence-C police in Lahore registered a case against three unidentified men accused of gang-raping a 20-year-old Azeri woman who was in the city for business.
A 20-year-old Azeri woman visiting Pakistan for business lodged a complaint with Defence-C police in Lahore, alleging that she was gang-raped by three men. She said two women approached her for dinner, and the group later met three men at a café. The men purportedly offered transportation, brought her to an unidentified flat, served alcohol and a intoxicating substance that caused her to lose consciousness, and then assaulted her.
She was later locked in the flat until the early afternoon, after which the suspects dropped her near Ghazi Interchange and fled, taking her mobile phone and other belongings. Police have registered a case against the three unidentified men and begun an investigation into the allegations.
