Police patrol car crashes through bridge railing into Vltava River in Prague

At roughly 08:00 on Saturday morning, a police patrol car on Prague's Hlávkův Bridge crashed through the protective railing and sank into the Vltava River. The vehicle was occupied by a man and a woman, both police officers, who were later found to be suffering from hypothermia but sustained no injuries. Police spokesman Jan Rybanský confirmed that investigators are still determining the cause of the crash.
A bystander observed the accident and entered the river to help the officers, prompting a swift rescue operation. Medical staff from the health-operation centre, led by Jana Poštová, treated the three individuals for cold exposure and declared them out of life-threatening danger. The incident remains under police inquiry.
