Police probe shooting that left a young woman with a hand wound in Nambour

Queensland police are investigating a gunshot incident on Image Flat Road that injured a 19-year-old woman's hand and led to a crime scene being declared.

Queensland police are treating a late-night shooting on Image Flat Road in Nambour as a criminal investigation. At approximately 11.30 pm, a 19-year-old woman was taken to Nambour Hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound to her hand, which officials described as non-life-threatening. Police reports indicate that she and a 19-year-old man were seated in a car outside a house when a dark-coloured vehicle pulled up, fired a single round toward them, and then sped away.

The scene was cordoned off, and the victims' vehicle was removed for further forensic analysis. No emergency services were called to the original incident. Police have declared there is no continuing threat to the community and are urging anyone with details to contact investigators.
