Police remain at Sigtuna boarding school following undisclosed serious incident
Swedish police have been stationed at the Sigtuna Humanistiska Läroverk boarding school since Thursday afternoon as they investigate a serious, as-yet-unexplained event.
Police units have been on the grounds of Sigtuna Humanistiska Läroverk, a boarding school with roughly 600 pupils, since the early afternoon on Thursday, carrying out investigative actions. Police spokesperson Ola Österling said the force is in contact with school personnel but will not disclose the nature of the incident at this time. Headmaster Sofia Kinberg acknowledged the police operation in an email, noting that the school will keep functioning and that further information will be released when the picture becomes clearer.
Parents received a communication stating that a serious, police-reported event had occurred and that the investigation was ongoing. The police remained at the school into the night, and authorities assured the public that no threat exists outside the campus.
