Police search for teen with blade after lockdown at two Croydon schools
A teenager suspected of carrying a bladed weapon prompted lockdowns at John Ruskin College and Quest Academy in Croydon.
Around 5:08 pm, officers from the Metropolitan Police responded to a college on Selsdon Park Road in Croydon after reports of a person seen with a bladed weapon. The individual, believed to be a teenager, had left the scene by the time police arrived, and no arrests were made. Students at John Ruskin College and the adjacent Quest Academy were instructed to remain inside their classrooms as a precaution.
Parents reported that pupils were unable to exit the buildings and some mentioned a possible machete. After inquiries, authorities lifted the lockdown and allowed pupils to leave. No injuries were recorded during the incident.
