Police seek 16 suspects after double AutoZone break-ins in East LA
Law enforcement is searching for 16 individuals suspected of participating in two AutoZone burglaries in East Los Angeles within a 24-hour span.
Authorities are pursuing 16 alleged participants in two AutoZone burglaries that hit the same East Los Angeles location within a single day. The first attack, occurring around 2:22 a.m. on Aug. 8, involved a person shattering the storefront doors while a group of ten entered and looted the premises. A second raid took place at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 9, with suspects again forcing their way inside, despite the store being boarded up after the prior theft.
Police link the later suspects to the earlier raid and note that the break-ins coincided with large street takeovers near Olympic and Atlantic boulevards, where over 100 cars gathered. Footage captured masked participants ransacking the store and fleeing with auto parts and cash registers, resulting in losses estimated at $50,000. Similar looting was reported at AutoZone locations in Watts, Downey and Long Beach during the same weekend of unrest.
