On Thursday night, ACT Policing received reports that ball bearings were thrown at shopfront windows of two government facilities in Canberra, one located near the Housing ACT Central Access Point on Emu Bank in Belconnen and the other on Benjamin Way. The attacks took place between 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., prompting a temporary lockdown of the Emu Bank building and the dismissal of staff for the day; the Housing ACT office remained closed on Friday.
Investigators confirmed that no one was harmed during the incidents. A media release issued Sunday reiterated the request for witnesses, urging anyone who observed suspicious individuals or vehicles to provide details to Crime Stoppers ACT via its website, referencing case number 8516326.
