Police seize £10 million worth of ketamine in Pontefract, three men charged
Authorities recovered about 500 kg of ketamine valued at roughly £10 million in Upton, Pontefract, and charged three men with drug-related offences.
In a coordinated raid led by the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit, police seized approximately 500 kg of ketamine from a house on Rose Avenue in Upton, Pontefract, a haul valued at about £10 million and regarded as the second-largest seizure of the substance in the UK. The operation resulted in the arrest of three men: Curtis Binns, 32, Paul Turner, 40, and Christopher Wills, 42. Binns faces charges of Class B drug possession with intent to supply and money laundering, Turner is charged with Class B possession with intent to supply, and Wills is charged with supplying a Class B drug.
All three were taken into custody on Wednesday evening and have been remanded to appear before Leeds Magistrates Court on Friday. West Yorkshire Police confirmed the seizure involved twenty black bin bags containing the drug.
