Police seize methamphetamine after 50km high-speed chase in Kota Tinggi
Two men were arrested following a 50km high-speed pursuit by Kota Tinggi police, during which methamphetamine was found in their vehicle.
At about 12.35 am, the mobile patrol of the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department in Kota Tinggi attempted to pull over a Proton Wira on Jalan Tun Sri Lanang. The occupants accelerated, prompting a high-speed chase that spanned approximately 50 km toward Ulu Tiram and concluded at kilometre 31.5 of the Johor Baru-Mersing road near the Taman Sri Saujana lights. Police successfully stopped the vehicle and arrested two suspects, aged 33 and 44.
Subsequent checks revealed methamphetamine in the car, and both individuals tested positive for the drug. Their records show earlier narcotics offenses, and they are wanted under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. The men have been remanded for four days pending further investigation under the Dangerous Drugs Act and the Penal Code.
