Police seize nearly 5,000 cartons of illegal cigarettes and a vehicle in Klang raid

The General Operations Force confiscated 4,920 cartons of untaxed cigarettes and a Nissan Almera during a raid in Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang, also arresting a 52-year-old suspect.

The General Operations Force’s 4th Battalion conducted a raid in Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang, as part of Op Taring Alpha 1, with support from the North Klang District Criminal Investigation Division. The operation, carried out at 4.30 pm, resulted in the seizure of 4,920 cartons of untaxed cigarettes of multiple brands and a Nissan Almera suspected of facilitating their distribution. Police also arrested a 52-year-old male believed to be the courier for the contraband shipment.

All seized goods and the suspect were moved to the Klang Utara district police headquarters, where the case is being pursued under the Customs Act 1967. Authorities urged the public to continue providing information on illegal activities. The raid highlights ongoing efforts to curb cigarette smuggling in the region.
