Police seize over RM1.7 million in drugs and assets in multi-state bust
Authorities arrested 11 suspects and confiscated more than RM1.79 million worth of drugs, equipment and cash in operations across six locations.
In a coordinated crackdown, the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department arrested 11 individuals - six Malaysian men and five foreign nationals - across Ampang, Petaling, Kepong, Brickfields, Subang Jaya and Sepang. The operation uncovered a makeshift drug laboratory in a rented bungalow in Ampang and additional processing equipment in Subang Jaya. Seized narcotics comprised 344.89 kg of methamphetamine powder, 347.15 liters of liquid meth, 3.84 kg of MDMA, 630 g of eramin 5 tablets and 20 g of cannabis, enough to supply an estimated three million users.
Authorities also confiscated 11 vehicles, a high-end watch, two ATM cards, RM3,610 in cash and a.38 revolver, with assets valued at RM1.79 million. Two foreign suspects, identified by Australian and Canadian passports, are suspected of leading the syndicate and acting as its chemists. Five of the detainees were remanded until late September, while the remaining six were released on bail and will serve as police witnesses.
