Police shut down overcrowded youth party in Espoo after multiple fights
Police intervened at a paid youth gathering in Espoo after reports of several fights and severe overcrowding.
During a weekend night in Espoo, a paid party for young people attracted far more attendees than the venue could accommodate, leading to multiple altercations. The site, authorized for 150 participants, was packed with several hundred individuals, and only two order-keepers were on duty. Police were alerted by an emergency call and discovered that the organizer had failed to provide the mandatory written notification at least five days before the event.
After speaking with the organizer, officers, accompanied by the two security staff, evacuated the premises. The West Uusimaa Police now suspect the organizer of breaching assembly and rescue regulations.
