Police sweep in Northern Mindanao nets six top fugitives, including murder and rape suspects
A 24-hour police operation across Northern Mindanao captured six wanted individuals, among them a high-profile murder suspect and several accused of sexual offenses.
Over a 24-hour period, police forces in Northern Mindanao conducted a series of warrant-based raids that led to the capture of six of the region’s most wanted fugitives. The operations, carried out by units in Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental and Cagayan de Oro City, targeted individuals with pending murder and sexual-abuse charges. Among those arrested was “Ronron,” listed among the top ten regional fugitives for murder, apprehended by the Talakag Municipal Police Station.
Additional arrests were made in Claveria, Impasugong and Manolo Fortich for rape and acts of lasciviousness, while the Provincial Intelligence Unit seized “Jose,” the province’s eighth-most wanted for qualified rape of a minor. In Cagayan de Oro City, police detained “JR,” the city’s third-most wanted for alleged qualified rape of a minor. Police Regional Office-10 director Brig. Gen. Nestor Babagay Jr. emphasized that the campaign will continue to pursue remaining fugitives and strengthen intelligence-driven policing.
