Police urge public and influencers not to intervene in Rohingya matters

Police officials addressed a gathering at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, urging citizens and online influencers to refrain from direct action concerning Rohingya settlements. Noor Hisam Nordin, director of Bukit Aman’s Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department, emphasized that any issues should be reported to the police or Immigration Department and left to official channels. He noted an increase in negative social-media content about the Rohingya and warned that vigilante actions could produce harmful outcomes and disturb public peace.

Kelantan police chief Mohd Yusoff Mamat and UMK vice-chancellor Arham Abdullah echoed the message, urging people not to make such matters viral. Authorities stressed that proper reporting, not self-appointed intervention, is the appropriate response to maintain order.
