Police urge public to avoid 21-year-old escapee from Niuvanniemi hospital

A 21-year-old man fled Niuvanniemi hospital on Thursday evening and police warn he may be unpredictable, urging anyone who sees him to call 112.

Authorities say the young man escaped the facility after 6 p.m. on Thursday while out for a walk. He is described as light-skinned, 172 cm tall, one outlet, with short dark hair and brown eyes, wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, grey trousers and a hoodie. Police consider him potentially dangerous and advise the public not to approach him. Calls with information should be directed to the emergency number 112, and the suspect may be heading toward the capital region.
