Cezary Tomczyk, the vice minister of defence, posted on X that the South Korean FA-50GF jets have officially begun combat patrols, marking a tangible upgrade to Poland's sky security and its eastern border. Although the aircraft were initially bought without armament, they have now been fitted and are ready for operational tasks. Tomczyk highlighted the Ministry of Defence's step-by-step effort under the leadership of Mariusz Kosiniak-Kamysz to fill missing capabilities.
He expressed gratitude to General Ireneusz Nowak, the air-force command, and all involved soldiers for their contributions. The FA-50GF delivery follows the 2022 contracts approved by former defence minister Mariusz Błaszczak, which also covered K2 tanks and K9 self-propelled howitzers, representing one of Poland's biggest recent defence purchases.
