Polish bus driver's detention extended after deadly M3 highway crash
A Hungarian court has prolonged the custody of the Polish driver who caused a fatal bus accident on the M3 motorway, where 12 pilgrims died.
The Miskolc District Court extended the detention of the Polish bus driver involved in the August crash on the M3 highway. Prosecutors say the driver fell asleep from fatigue, causing the vehicle to leave the hard shoulder and overturn. The accident claimed 12 lives, left three seriously injured, and caused additional injuries to twenty others. If convicted of causing the deaths, the driver faces a prison term of two to eight years.
