Polish fuel prices hit record highs as diesel climbs toward 9 zł per litre

The average price of 95-octane gasoline in Poland rose to 7.89 zł per litre, the highest level recorded since June 2022 when prices peaked at 7.97 zł. Diesel prices set a new record as well, reaching 8.76 zł per litre, overtaking the earlier high of 8.75 zł. Autogas saw a modest increase to 3.02 zł per litre.
Forecasts suggest gasoline prices will hold steady in the coming week, while diesel is likely to keep climbing, potentially nearing the 9 zł psychological threshold. Brent crude on the ICE exchange rose to around $106 per barrel, with spot prices jumping to roughly $120 per barrel amid escalating Saudi-Houthi and US-Iran conflicts. Limited diesel supply caused by Middle-East export curbs and a Russian embargo contributes to the upward pressure, while the U.S. Energy Information Administration expects Brent to stay near $91 per barrel through year-end.
