Polish Hiker Found Dead After 160-Meter Fall in Romania’s Fărăgaș Mountains

Rescue teams reached a 50-year-old Polish tourist on Saturday night in the Vârful Mircii area and confirmed he had died after falling 160 m.

On Saturday evening, mountain rescuers arrived at the site of a 50-year-old Polish hiker who had plunged 160 meters near Vârful Mircii in the Fărăgaș Mountains. The team found the man deceased. Because the operation took place at night and weather was poor, they could not retrieve the body that evening. Recovery will be resumed when conditions improve.
