Polish lawmaker warns against political forces undermining EU and NATO unity

Ukrainian railways said a Russian drone damaged a passenger-train locomotive near the Poland border, and Paweł Kowal warned that some Polish political groups are threatening EU cohesion.

Ukrainian railways announced that a Russian drone hit a passenger-train locomotive on the Kyiv-Warsaw line shortly before the border, causing damage but no casualties. Similar reports placed a drone strike on a truck near Jagodzin, about 800 metres from the Dorohusk-Jagodzin crossing, though officials could not verify the details. Prime Minister Donald Tusk, speaking at a security briefing, said the information could not be confirmed.

Civic Coalition MP Paweł Kowal, appearing on Polsat News, warned that some Polish political forces are harming the European Union, describing them as hostile to national interests. He urged a united front within the EU and NATO to deter Russian influence and said these actors should be named openly. Kowal also mentioned a European Parliament member allegedly aligned with the AfD and criticized past complacency regarding Poland’s western border.
