Polish PM cites CIA warning, urges Europe to brace for Russian-Ukrainian escalation

According to a source close to the government, CIA Director John Ratcliffe handed Prime Minister Donald Tusk a briefing that outlines potential events in the near future. Tusk emphasized that Poland and all of Europe need to be prepared for diverse scenarios on the Russian-Ukrainian battlefield and on NATO’s eastern border, as well as for possible internal provocations. He noted that the United States expressed shock after a massive Ukrainian attack occurred the day after Ratcliffe’s visit.

In parallel, Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz will travel to Washington to confer with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth about ongoing arms procurement and the establishment of a permanent American military presence in Poland. The Polish defence ministry recently signed a new financing agreement with the United States for the purchase of American military equipment under the Foreign Military Financing program.
