Polish police detain man accused of plotting attack on Prime Minister Donald Tusk
Police have arrested a suspect who threatened to carry out a gun attack on Prime Minister Donald Tusk, officials said.
Marcin Kierwiński, head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, confirmed that Polish police have detained a man who threatened and prepared an assault on Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Security services received a morning warning that the scheme also targeted Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. According to spokesperson Jacek Dobrzyński, the suspect communicated with a radical organization via social media and attempted to recruit accomplices, even meeting an individual named Krzysztof to discuss firearms and a mass killing.
The danger is described as "extremely serious" with a high probability of being carried out, prompting coordinated action among the police and intelligence agencies. Dobrzyński added that threats against senior officials are rising, though operational details remain undisclosed for security reasons.
